152 Killed in Pakistani Airliner Crash

A Pakistani passenger jet crashed into the mountains just outside of that country's capital city of Islamabad, killing all 152 people on board. Authorities say the domestic Airblue flight took off from Karachi and lost contact with the control tower on approach.

The cause of the crash wasn't immediately known, but Civil avaition officials believe that the plane may have veered off course in the monsoon rains after losing contect with the Islamabad control tower. Terrorism wasn't immediately suspected, but officials still need to locate the black box for the Airbus A321. Emergency workers and volunteers were hindered by the rain, mud and rough terrain for most of the day.

The US State Department said that two US citicizens were on board, although they didn't immediately identify them
