Actress Christina Hendricks' Phone Reportedly Hacked

Buxom Mad Men star Christina Hendricks alerted authorities to the fact that her phone was hacked over the weekend. The hacker then reportedly helped himself to a number of racy images which were subsequently disseminated online, including one where the actress took a self-portrait while topless and sans makeup.

Her representative moved swiftly to brand the image a fake, but revealed that Hendricks’ phone had been improperly accessed recently and several shots, including a snap of the redhead barely dressed, were stolen.

The rep tells GossipCop.com, “Christina’s phone was in fact hacked and photos were stolen. The proper authorities have been contacted in hopes of rectifying this situation. The topless image is fake and not an image of Christina.”
News of the hacking took place a few hours after actress and comedienne Olivia Munn's phone was reportedly hacked.

Munn responded to the news with a tweet about how anybody who hacked her phone would find pictures of chubby babies or LOLcats.

Belated First Look At the New Wonder Woman- sans Christina Hendricks

Well- for those of you dreaming that the voluptuous Christina Hendricks would be coming to the small screen in the upcoming Wonder Woman TV series, sad to say but the dream is over. Adrianne Palicki was announced as the titular (tee-hee) character last week and the revamped Wonder Woman costume was also revealed in a publicity photo released earlier this month. I'll let you compare and contrast if you're so inclined. As Jammie Wearing Fool had pointed out, the newer version of the Wonder Woman costume is supposedly controversial because it lacks the stars and stripes motif of the classic version- however, I wouldn't be surprised if that was some sort of contrived 'controversy' to try and gin up publicity for the TV Series. Here are some 'before' pictures of Ms Palicki to give you an idea of what she looked like before playing the Amazon brunette. Adrianne Palicki had previously appeared in the Friday Night Lights TV series and the 2010 film Legion. Palicki also logged some time as a voice actress on Adult Swim's Titan Maximum and Robot Chicken. While there's no Christina Hendricks, British actress and model Liz Hurley (who's well into her 40s and still looking good) is slated to appear as Wonder Woman's nemesis in the pilot episode. And without the role of Wonder Woman to fall back on, how exactly is Christina Hendricks getting by? Well, when she isn't drawing attention as 60's secretary Joan Halloway, Hendricks is now the face of Vivienne Westwood's collection of Palladium jewelry. No doubt the market price of Palladium shot up when word of that got out. [hat tip- Wyatt Earp; Jamie Wearing Fool]

Christina Hendricks- Superheroine?

Good news for those of you counting down the minutes until voluptuous actress Christina Hendricks squeezes into a Wonder Woman outfit. A series of seemingly unrelated events might end up making this a reality.
Now take idle gossip rag chatter for whatever it's worth, but apparently a rumor had been circulating earlier about Hendricks being one of the leading choices for the always upcoming yet never produced live action Wonder Woman film. When she was asked about it by TV hostess Rachel Ray, Hendricks said "I head that rumor too- I don't know where it got started, but I love it! I’ve been wanting to wear that outfit my whole life! That would be such fun! Let’s put it out there!"

Fast forward to earlier this month, where the buxom redhead got quite a scare attending the 2011 Golden Globes [Heh heh....globes- NANESB!]. Like many other actresses, Hendricks borrowed some expensive jewelry for the awards show- in this case, a pair of 200 carat diamond bracelets as well as a 49-carat emerald set in platinum. Moments before the show started, the actress noticed that one of the bracelets was missing and frantically began asking media and security if they had seen the missing jewelry.

An event worker was eventually able to find it on the red carpet outside and returned it to Hendricks as the show started, but the actress couldn't get the clasp to close properly. So she stashed the newly recovered bracelet in her cleavage before deciding to try to get it back to her publicist.
But security blocked her as she tried to leave the auditorium, as no one is allowed in or out once the show starts. She begged, "Please let me out, I have to give my diamond bracelet to my publicist!" The guard watched wide-eyed as Hendricks pulled the bracelet out from her ample cleavage. He opened the door a crack and she passed the jewels through to her publicist outside.
Besides being one of the luckiest inanimate objects on the face of the earth, the AWOL bracelet was worth an estimated $850,000 by Swiss jewellers Chopard.

Now even to somebody with a high net worth like Hendricks, $850,000 is a pretty sizable chunk of change. Let's say that bracelet was never recovered- her wallet would've taken a pretty big hit [I can't say her reputation would've taken a hit, since this is the same Hollywood that eagerly defends pedophiles, drug users, cop killers and foreign leftist dictators, so what's a little missing jewelry?- NANESB!].

Hypothetically speaking- what's a girl to do?

Live the dream, of course!

Almost as soon as Comcast [NASDAQ: CMCSA] completed their acquisition of NBC Universal, it was announced that a pilot episode for David E. Kelley's Wonder Woman TV series was greenlit.
Wonder Woman will fly this pilot season after all. New NBC entertainment president Bob Greenblatt capped a day of high-profile pilot pickups with a surprise order to David E. Kelley's Wonder Woman reboot. WBTV took Kelley's Wonder Woman spec out to the networks in the first week of January. At the time, NBC was the most interested but, with Greenblatt still on the sidelines, the network couldn't commit to the type of license fee that the studio was seeking in order to do the show Kelley had envisioned, and WBTV decided to shelve the project. With Greenblatt now firmly taking the reins and Kelley just delivering one of the most promising new series for NBC this season, Harry's Law, NBC stepped up to greenlight Wonder Woman. The project is described as a reinvention of the iconic D.C. comic in which Wonder Woman -- aka Diana Prince -- is a vigilante crime fighter in L.A. but also a successful corporate executive and a modern woman trying to balance all of the elements of her extraordinary life. "I had a lot of fun writing it," Kelley said of the script at TCA last week when the project had just been put on hold. "It's a huge project, and it was probably a bit too much to ask anyone to try to chew on it for next season. But I'm confident it will still happen. It's a very complicated piece, which is the most fun thing about it."
OK- so it isn't the live-action movie that had been alluded to, and it's never too late for this project to be a colossal trainwreck. But with that said, wouldn't you rather see it- trainwreck and all- with Christina Hendricks as the titular [hee hee, I said.......ah, nevermind- NANESB!] heroine than say.....Megan Fox?

Sure- the urgent monetary incentive (i.e. the missing platinum & diamond bracelet) isn't there anymore, and it would be presumptuous of me to think that Hendricks would be as concerned about losing an object loaned to her that's close to 10% of her net worth that I would be, not to mention Hendricks would probably have to do considerably more stunt work than she would as Joan Holloway, but nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Christina Hendricks- Scrounging For Designer Clothes?

Jason Merritt/Getty
Turns out besides kickoff for College football, the Emmys were this weekend. Like paint drying or grass growing, I typically could let an event like the Emmys pass by without comment, but it seems realistically-proportioned eye-candy Christina Hendricks was once again the focus of some media buzz.

Or at least her stylist, Lawren Sample, was when she told of how difficult it was to find a designer dress that could fit Hendricks.
"She's a woman, she's got a woman's body. But most actors these days, there's nothing to them - they're a clothes hanger."

Lawren admits with unusual candour that though the 35-year- old actress's curves - her vital statistics are reported to be a 38DD-26-34 - are the envy of Mad Men fans, designers prefer to steer clear.

"If you have a fitting with anyone else - her Mad Men co-star January Jones, for example - she's going to get 50 beautiful runway samples sent to her," says Lawren.

"We need to have dresses made. If we don't have them made, we have to get a larger size that's been made for someone else but never worn, or a vintage piece."

Lawren has to beg, buttering up the designer, saying Christina is a "huge, huge fan" of their work. Yet nine times out of ten, it is still a flat "No".

"They'll say: ''Unfortunately, we don't have the sizes to support her,'' or ''Unfortunately, we only have a size two or four.""
I have to say, this Zac Posen fellow has made me stop and reassess whether or not the fashion industry is comprised exclusively of angry homosexuals who's sole purpose in life it is to try and make attractive women look as much like androgynous urchins as possible.

In the end, New York designer Zac Posen stepped up to the mark to dress Christina for the Emmys.

He wanted to accentuate her shape, rather than hide it. The lilac, cleavage-bearing, hourglass dress in chiffon with hand- stitched feathers was specially made for her, with a structured, boned bodice

"She's got a beautiful body, there's no reason to hide anything. Let's celebrate what she has," he said.
I'll let the final product speak for itself.

Personally, I think Hendricks almost falls into the 'Hollywood Pudgy' category and I think it's pretty telling that the fashion industry can't or won't make dresses for an actress who's measurements seem to be closer to that of most American women than most of the other actresses or singers out there.

Christina Hendricks in Plastic? Not so Fantastic....

Can you spot the difference? Didn't think so.
File this under 'N' for 'Noooooooooooooo!!!!!'

Little known fact- Mattel helped celebrate the kickoff of Mad Men's 4th season with the release of limited edition Barbies depicting characters from the series late last month.

Of course, there's the exception of Christina Hendrick's Joan Holloway character. She's apparently been replaced by a stick figure that's been inspired by a cross between a formally dressed Strawberry Shortcake and those aliens from the supermarket tabloids.

Just.....yikes....gone are the curves that put both the series and Hendricks on the map, replaced with the standard and more unrealistic Barbie figure (which can be yours, for a paltry $74.99 on Amazon.com). I'm not even going to pull the 'Think of the Children' card when it comes to promoting a certain body type- that was pointed out here earlier- but most of Hendricks' appeal is that she's enthusiastically and convincingly bucked the heroin chic and plastic surgery trends coming from the entertainment industry and made a name for herself with good old-fashioned all-natural, Elvgren-esque curves.....Good Lord- it would be like marketing a super detailed David Ortiz MLB action figure only to have Urkel in a Red Sox jersey and batting helmet hit the shelves.

Reportedly, serious collectors are very dismayed with this discrepancy between the Holloway Barbie and Hendrick's real-life measurements.

UK Equalities Minister: Christina Hendricks is "Role Model"

UK Equalities Minister Lynne Featherstone apparently is a fan of Mad Men- specifically Christina Hendricks.
Equalities Minister Lynne Featherstone has declared the curvaceous redhead, who plays Joan Holloway in the hit American drama, an "absolutely fabulous" role model for girls, the UK's Daily Telegraph newspaper reports.

The Liberal Democrat minister criticised the overexposure of skinny models, which she said was causing a crisis in body confidence among the young.
She said women shouldn't be constantly comparing themselves with the "unattainable" figures of most celebrities and models.

"Christina Hendricks is absolutely fabulous," Mrs Featherstone said.

"We need more of these role models.

"There is such a sensation when there is a curvy role model. It shouldn't be so unusual."

Hendricks was voted the sexiest woman alive by Esquire magazine readers earlier this year...
As much as I'm in agreement with Featherstone regarding heroin chic and more curvy models or actresses being under-appreciated in the fashion and entrainment industry, it's one of those things that I don't think is the governments business.

This isn't the first plus-sized hullaballoo across the pond over the last few years. Amid criticism from some quarters, 17 year old Chloe Marshall of Surrey won runner-up in the 2008 Miss England pageant, with some tabloids calling the teenage Marshal a 'Poster Child for Ill Health'.

Old Grey Lady Vs Voluptuous Blonde Who Plays Voluptuous Redhead on TV Update: NYT Runs Distorted Image of 'Big Girl' Christina Hendricks

(side by side images courtesey of Gothamist)

After being referred to as a 'big' girl by one of the NY Times style editors, the Times website ran with a distorted photo of Mad Men actress Christina Hendricks' appearence on the red carpet (giggity) prior to last weekend's Golden Globes (giggity).

The Old Grey Lady explained the gaffe as follows:

"The photo was slightly distorted inadvertently due to an error during routine processing. The photograph has been replaced."

Well, while not quite on the same scale as photoshopping additional smoke over the Beirut skyline during the Israeli-Hezbollah confilct of 2006, seems like a page out of the same playbook. Interesting that the distorted photo would be run accompanying the stylista's column trying to illustrate how 'big' she is.
This quote from the Gothamist was too good to pass up:
" ...this is the kind of top notch journalism you'll soon be asked pay more for!"
UPDATE: Gothamist has thoughtfully updated their article with a 'throbbing' Christina Hendricks image.

CATFIGHT: Old Grey Lady versus Voluptuous Blonde who Plays Voluptuous Redhead on TV

(Ethan Miller/Getty Images)

I normally don't get into these fashion and entertainment industry pissing matches, and to be honest I haven't seen a single episode of Mad Men. But apparently one of the New York Times stylistas liveblogging the Golden Globes had this to say about Mad Men actress Christina Hendricks:

"You don't put a big girl in a big dress. That's rule number one."

Umm......define 'big', please. From what I see, Ms. Hendricks has curves. I can't say with certainty she has curves in all the right places- closer firsthand examination will need to be undertaken by yours truly to reach a more definitive conclusion- but from what I see so far, she's off to a good start. Aren't curves on a woman supposed to be healthy and feminine and even celebrated? It's not like we're talking about Susan Boyle without the singing ability here. I think all these news stories about the uptick in obesity in Americans has us looking for signs of that problem when there are none....or it could just be petty schoolyard name-calling and cheap shot that are supposed to be clever. I wouldn't put that past somebody on the Time's payroll.

I also feel compelled to speak up on Ms. Hendricks behalf because, although technically not a pin-up, she's a leading actress on a show set in the early 60s, so I suspect she'd have to have the look down for the role. Plus, if Philly blogger Wyatt Earp taught me anything, it's that you can't have too much eye candy (Hendricks-centric or otherwise) on your blog.

Given the Old Grey Lady's already-established 'journalism' practises like denying Stalin's engineered famine in the Ukraine was taking place (and a Pulitzer being awarded to the 'reporter' who ignored it), having liar and plagirist Jayson Blair on their payroll for 4 years and routinely publishing national security and intelligence information during the Bush administration, I'm not above dogpiling on the publication. Or laughing as their stock [NYSE: NYT] circles the drain.
