Railpictures.net contributor Travis DeWitz points out that railways seldom take time off due to inclement weather (unless, of course, it gets to the point where it affects the equipment or right-of-way). And this time of year, inclement weather is a way of life in Minnesota. Less than a day after a blizzard dumped a foot of snow on the area, a pair of SOO line GP38-2s power a Canadian Pacific local past the Red Wing, MN depot on their way back to the Twin Cities after waiting for a delayed Amtrak Empire Builder to make its station stop on the evening of December 9, 2009.
